On June 20th, the substructure of the western approach bridge in the Shiziyang Tunnel project, located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), was fully completed, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the superstructure.

The Shiziyang Tunnel, situated at the heart of the GBA, is the world's first double-deck sea-crossing highway corridor. The project is located 3.6 kilometers downstream from the Nansha Bridge and 7.7 kilometers upstream from the Humen Bridge, with a total length of approximately 35 kilometers. It features 16 lanes across two decks and connects the Nansha District of Guangzhou with Shatian and Humen towns in Dongguan.

The main span of the Shiziyang Grand Bridge adopts a 2,180-meter double-deck steel truss suspension bridge design, setting five world records for double-deck suspension bridges. The western approach section posed significant construction challenges due to the complex steel reinforcement layout and the massive volume of concrete required, over 1,300 cubic meters for a single cap beam. To address this, the project team employed Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and crash simulation analysis to enhance construction quality and efficiency.

Currently, the main anchorages of the Shiziyang Grand Bridge has exceeded 140 meters in height, steadily advancing toward its goal of topping out next year. Once completed and open to traffic, the Shiziyang Tunnel will serve as a new artery linking the east and west banks of the Pearl River, accelerating the formation of a "one-hour living circle" across the GBA.

狮子洋通道建设有新进展
6月20日,粤港澳大湾区狮子洋通道西高墩区引桥下部结构全部完工,为引桥上部结构施工奠定坚实基础。
狮子洋通道位于粤港澳大湾区核心区域,是世界上首条双层复合跨海公路通道。项目距上游南沙大桥3.6公里,距下游虎门大桥7.7公里,全长约35公里,上下双层共16车道,连接广州市南沙区和东莞市沙田、虎门两镇。
狮子洋大桥采用主跨2180米双层钢桁悬索桥的方案“一跨过江”,创下双层悬索桥五项世界第一。西高墩区引桥盖梁钢筋布置复杂,单片盖梁混凝土浇筑方量达1300多立方米,为此,项目团队采用BIM建模技术,开展碰撞模拟分析,提高施工质量及效率。
目前,狮子洋通道主桥主塔建设高度已突破140米,正向着明年实现封顶的目标迈进。狮子洋通道建成通车后,将为珠江东西两岸融合发展开辟新通道,加快构建粤港澳大湾区“1小时生活圈”。
